Activity During WWII

Employed full-time, a divorced mom of two daughters. She planted and tended our victory garden, gave up her Saturday afternoons off to sit in the theatre lobby to sell U.S. Savings Bonds and stamps, gave her shoe ration stamps to the needs of her two young daughters, and served many sandwiches; spent many evenings at the United Service Organizations (USO). All three of us knitted squares for blankets for our men in service.
