ENLISTED ON JULY 8, 1942. SAILED TO ENGLAND ON THE QUEEN MARY AND LANDED AT GRENOCK, SCOTLAND. SAILED TO EUROPE ON A LIBERTY SHIP AND WENT INTO FRANCE ON D+5. SERVED AS COMMUNICATIONS SERGEANT WITH 84TH ORDNANCE BATTALION. STATIONED JUST OUTSIDE TREVIERS. TRANSFERRED TO HEADQUARTERS, 1ST ARMY ORDNANCE SECTION, MAINTAINING OFFICER PERSONNEL FILES AND RESPONSIBLE FOR CLASSIFIED DAILY STENCILS. WENT FROM NORTHERN FRANCE TO THE ARDENNES DURING THE BREAKTHROUGH, THEN TO RHINELAND AND FINALLY TO CENTRAL EUROPE. HONORABLY DISCHARGED ON OCTOBER 3, 1945 FROM FORT JACKSON, SOUTH CAROLINA.
