Entered the service at Fort Custer on August 26, 1942 at Battle Creek, Michigan. Served in the 535th Anti-Aircraft Artillery, 1st Army for 1 year, as a gunner protecting troops from air raids. Injured on December 16, 1944 at the Battle of the Bulge. Returned to duty on January 24, 1945. Killed on March 14, 1945 in Germany, defending a bridge.
