Entered into active service in February 1942 and honorable discharge in June 1946. Served with Company C, 504th Parachute Infantry, 82nd Airborne Division. Made 2 combat parachute jumps at Sicily and Salerno beachheads. Also participated in the 1st wave at the Anzio beachhead. Completed 12 successful parachute jumps. Received the Purple Heart, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with 2 Battle Stars and 3 Arrowheads, Combat Infantryman Badge, Parachute Badge, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon and the WWII Victory Ribbon.
