HE SERVED INITIALLY IN THE MILITARY POLICE AT CAMP PERRY, OHIO. HE WAS THEN ASSIGNED TO THE 76TH FIELD HOSPITAL IN JUNE 1944 AND WAS ENGAGED IN THE BATTLE OF OKINAWA, THE LIBERATION OF THE PHILIPPINES AND THE OCCUPATION OF JAPAN.
