PRIVATE 1ST CLASS WITH THE 10TH ARMORED INFANTRY BATTALION, 4TH ARMORED DIVISION. ENTERED COMBAT ON JULY 19, 1944 AND WAS KILLED IN ACTION ON OCTOBER 5, 1944 IN THE MEURTHE-ET-MOSELLE REGION OF FRANCE. AWARDED THE PURPLE HEART MEDAL POSTHUMOUSLY. EARNED THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH 2 BRONZE BATTLE STARS AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL. BURIED WITH MILITARY HONORS AT THE LORRAINE AMERICAN CEMETERY, ST. AVOLD (MOSELLE), FRANCE. ALSO HONORED AT THE LIBRARY PARK WWII MEMORIAL IN FLORA, ILLINOIS.
