JOINED THE U.S. ARMY AT THE AGE OF 18 IN DECEMBER 1944 AT FORT SHERIDAN, CHICAGO, ILLINOIS. HE WAS IMMEDIATELY SENT TO INFANTRY REPLACEMENT TRAINING CAMP (IRTC) AT CAMP FANNIN, TEXAS. UPON HIS SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF BASIC TRAINING HE WAS AMONG THE FEW SELECTED TO ATTEND OFFICER CANDIDATE SCHOOL (OCS) AT FORT BENNING, GEORGIA. AFTER SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETING THE RIGOROUS PROGRAM AT OFFICER CANDIDATE SCHOOL HE WAS COMMISSIONED A 2ND LIEUTENANT IN THE INFANTRY AT FORT BENNING, GEORGIA IN DECEMBER 1945. HE IMMEDIATELY VOLUNTEERED FOR OVERSEAS DUTY AND WAS SENT TO OCCUPIED GERMANY TO JOIN THE 29TH INFANTRY REGIMENT, ANTI-TANK COMPANY AS PART OF THE ARMY OF OCCUPATION. WHILE SERVING IN GERMANY HE WAS SELECTED TO ATTEND EUROPEAN COMMAND MILITARY INTELLIGENCE SCHOOL IN OBERAMMERGAU, GERMANY. THERE HE STUDIED TO PREPARE FOR AN ASSIGNMENT IN MILITARY GOVERNMENT. WAS EVENTUALLY ASSIGNED TO GEMUMDEN, GERMANY AS PART OF THE ARMY OF OCCUPATION, 3RD MILITARY GOVERNMENT REGIMENT. HIS DUTIES THERE INCLUDED ASSISTING IN THE OVERSEEING OF THE 'DENAZIFICATION' PROCESS IN THE DISTRICT COURT FOR LESS SERIOUS OFFENSES UNDER A PRESIDING GERMAN JUDGE. HE IS 1 OF 5 PRICE BROTHERS FROM THE SAME FAMILY IN MARTINEZ, CALIFORNIA WHO SURVIVED THE WAR. SERVED 41 MONTHS IN THE U.S. ARMY AND WAS HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS AN INFANTRY 1ST LIEUTENANT.
