Pilot of B-17 flying Fortress 'Stormy Weather' while stationed at Kimbolton Airfield with 379th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force. During one rough mission, the plane lost two engines over Germany. After limping back across the English Channel, the third engine stopped just as they reached the cliffs of Dover. As the plane landed at a small British Base and tried to taxi, the last engine quit also. He had completed 26 missions when WWII ended in Europe.
