Armament and Special Weapons Officer. Entered Army in 1936 and served to the end of war with Japan. Spent approximately one year in China-Burma-India Campaign, then moved to Tinian. Went out with the first B-29 aircraft units and came home after my unit dropped a bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Spent 10 years in staff positions in the 8th Bombardier and the 15th Air Force. Served in Japan during Korean War and participated in opening a Air Force Base in 1959.
