His plane was on a mission to bomb a plant in Schweinfurt, Germany. They were hit and the plane went down. He bravely assisted 2 men who were trapped in back of the plane. One of the men contacted my mother and told her what happened. He was only 19 years old. Army Serial Number 12126762. Served with the 365th Bomb Squadron, 305th Bomb Group (H).
