Activity During WWII

An American Citizen, he made the Philippine Islands his home for much of his life. When the Japanese invaded, he fled to the Interior and made contact with the Guerilla Forces: General Fertig granted him the rank of Captain, partially due to his previous experience and service in the Navy. The Guerillas maintained contact with the outside world mainly by radio and submarine. They acted as a support group for any and all forms of resistance. Never captured. He passed away on Negros Island in 1981, at the age of 94.
