Served in the European Theater with the second bomb group to bomb Berlin. Served on the longest escorted mission from Southern Italy to Berlin, and also was on the last mission of the war. Received the air medal for 5 missions. Shot down ME262 in April of 1945. Flew a total of 17 missions. Served from 1942 to 1945 as a ball turret gunner on a B-17.
