Company C, 202nd Engineer, c Battalion, along with E Company of 17th Armored Engineers. Built the first bridge across the Rhine River in the 9th Army Section. It was the longest pontoon bridge in the world, 1,146 feet long, and broke every existing bridge building record when we built it in nine hours on March 25, 1945, just South of Wesel, Germany.
