Fought in the South Pacific on the Mariana Islands of Guam, Saipan and Tinian. He was among the occupying forces in Nagasaki, Japan, just 43 Days after the atomic bomb was dropped. Served as Infantry Chief and Gunnery Sergeant. Was a rifleman sharpshooter. Active service March 9, 1939 to July 23, 1947.
