Ammunition Handler, 1st Squad of Ammunition and Pioneer Platoon, Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 116th Infantry, 29th Division. On October 18, 1944, he was acting as a rifleman and was killed by a mortar shell during an attack on the town of Wurselen, Germany.
