Activity During WWII

Lead navigator of sky trains carrying paratroops and gliders over Sicily, Italy, France, Holland and Germany. Aerial flights, June 6-7 during invasions of Normandy. September 17, 18, 26 in vertical envelopment of enemy positions in Holland. After leaving the target, his plane went down while participating in the Air-borne operation with the crossing of the Rhine in Germany. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Presidential Citation and seven Battle stars.
