Activity During WWII

Company E, 262nd Regiment, 66th Division. Christmas Eve 1944, crossing the English Channel, one of our Troop ships was torpedoed and sank, killing over 800 men, including 1/2 of the Platoon. Division was then diverted from going to the Battle of the Bulge to St. Nazaire and Lorient, France. Where we contained 60,000 German Troops who were guarding Heavy Fortified Submarine Bases. Awarded Bronze Star.
