712th Tank Destroyer Battalion. Served in the European Theatre of Operations for 20 months and drove a light tank in combat. Also fired Caliber 20 and 50 machine guns and 37mm guns upon enemy targets. Tour included duty in Ardennes, Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland. He received American Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
