Graduated from Naval Reserve School Diesel, Iowa State College, Ames, Iowa; as a diesel engineer aboard this ship. Served in the North Atlantic and wounded. He received the American Area Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and WWII Victory Medal. Discharged 12-29-45 into Reserve. Served in Korean Conflict.
