ENTERED SERVICE IN FEBRUARY 1943 AS MEDIC IN THE 332ND FIELD ARTILLERY BATTALION, 86TH INFANTRY 'BLACK HAWK' DIVISION AT CAMP HOWZE, TEXAS. WENT TO OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY FOR ARMY SPECIALIZED TRAINING PROGRAM. RECEIVED COURSES IN WATER PURIFICATION AND SEWAGE DISPOSAL. WENT TO CAMP BARKELEY, TEXAS TO SERVE IN AN AID STATION. AFTER RECEIVING ADDITIONAL TRAINING ON THE ISLAND OF NEW CALEDONIA, ASSIGNED TO THE 76TH STATION HOSPITAL DURING THE BATTLE OF LEYTE, PHILIPPINES. AFTER THE WAR ENDED, STATIONED IN JAPAN IN THE ARMY OF OCCUPATION. HONORABLE DISCHARGE AT FORT SHERIDAN, ILLINOIS ON FEBRUARY 10, 1946 WITH THE RANK OF SERGEANT.
