Served with the 449th Bomb Group, 15th Air Force. Co-pilot of a B-24 Liberator airplane. Left the U.S. on December 11, 1943. Landed in Italy on December 20, 1943 at Grottaglie Field. He was killed in action during a mission January 30, 1944. Awarded posthumously the Purple Heart and the Air Medal.
