Served 1941-4197. Fought in battles of New Britain, New Guinea, and Luzon, Philippine Islands, where he was wounded. From 1945-1947, was at Halloran Army Hospital recovering. Awarded Bronze Star, Purple Heart with Cluster, three Arrowhead Ribbons and Combat Infantryman Badge.
