Battalion hit Omaha Beach on D-Day, H-Hour June 6, 1944, clearing underwater mines, obstacles, with assault waves of the 1st and 29th Infantry Divisions. Also, in Campaigns in France, Belgium and Germany; made temporary repairs to roads, bridges and removed enemy mines, laid anti-tank mines. Wounded in Vossenack, Germany, November 7, 1944.
