ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE AS A DRAFTEE ON JANUARY 18, 1943. TRAINED AS AN ANTI-AIRCRAFT ARTILLERY CREWMAN AND DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ON NOVEMBER 2, 1943 BOUND FOR THE ASIATIC-PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS. SERVED WITH BATTERY Z, 49'7TH ANTI-AIRCRAFT ARTILLERY GUN BATTALION. EARNED THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, THE ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL, THE PHILIPPINE LIBERATION MEDAL, THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL AND THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED FROM THE SERVICE AT FORT CUSTER, MICHIGAN ON JANUARY 22, 1946.
