Activity During WWII

In charge of a Civilian Conservation Corps Camp in Maine when war broke out. He went from camp to camp closing them. Sent to Fort Benning, then to Surinam, South America, in charge of guarding the bauxite mines. After his brother was killed in war, he wanted to get back into action. He was on his way to California when the bomb was dropped on Nagasaki. His men went on to war in the Pacific, but he was brought back to Fort Devens.
