Inducted January 15, 1943. Machine Gunner. Fought in South Pacific -- New Guinea, Leyte, and Luzon. Severely wounded in combat in the Philippines on April 28, 1945. Received Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with one Bronze Star, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two Bronze Stars, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Ribbon, American Theater Campaign Ribbon. Honorably discharged on September 18, 1945. Deceased September 13, 2002.
