PRIVATE FIRST CLASS WITH 359TH INFANTRY REGIMENT, 90TH INFANTRY DIVISION. ENTERED COMBAT ON JUNE 8, 1944 AND PARTICIPATED IN THE NORMANDY AND NORTHERN FRANCE CAMPAIGNS. KILLED IN ACTION ON NOVEMBER 12, 1944 IN VICINITY OF KOENIGSMAKER, MOSELLE, FRANCE. EARNED THE PURPLE HEART AND WAS OTHERWISE ELIGIBLE FOR THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, THE EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH TWO BRONZE BATTLE STARS AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL. BURIED WITH HONORS AT THE LORRAINE AMERICAN CEMETERY, ST. AVOLD (MOSELLE), FRANCE. HONORED ALSO AT THE WWII MEMORIAL IN FLORA, ILLINOIS.
