PRIVATE 1ST CLASS WITH 417TH INFANTRY REGIMENT, 76TH INFANTRY DIVISION. ENTERED COMBAT ON JANUARY 19, 1945 AND PARTICIPATED IN THE RHINELAND AND ARDENNES CAMPAIGNS. KILLED IN ACTION ON FEBRUARY 7, 1945 IN VICINITY OF BECH, LUXEMBOURG. EARNED THE PURPLE HEART AND WAS ELIGIBLE FOR THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, THE EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH TWO BRONZE BATTLE STARS, AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL. BURIED WITH HONORS AT THE LUXEMBOURG AMERICAN CEMETERY. HONORED ALSO AT THE WWII MEMORIAL IN FLORA, ILLINOIS.
