Activity During WWII

Entered combat as Staff Sergeant, Squad leader on 7-06-44 at Omaha Beach. Fought in all 5 major campaigns in France, Germany, Luxembourg, Holland and Belgium; covering approximately 1,600 combat miles. Wounded on10-20-44 (right leg). Promoted to Technical Sergeant during combat period. Only about 13 of original Company I (320 men), returned to States together. Received 5 Battle Stars, Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Discharged on 9-20-45. Returned to Midland, Texas upon discharge. Died 9-17-94 at the age of 71, had military services.
