TECHNICIAN 5TH GRADE WITH 83RD RECONNAISSANCE BATTALION, 3RD ARMORED DIVISION. ENTERED COMBAT ON JUNE 29, 1944 AND DIED OF WOUNDS ON SEPTEMBER 19, 1944 IN VICINITY OF STOLBERG, RHINELAND, GERMANY. AWARDED THE PURPLE HEART MEDAL POSTHUMOUSLY AND OTHERWISE ENTITLED TO THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, THE EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN CAMPAIGN WITH THREE BRONZE BATTLE STARS AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL. BURIED WITH MILITARY HONORS AT HENRI-CHAPELLE AMERICAN CEMETERY, HENRI-CHAPELLE, BELGIUM. HONORED ALSO AT THE WWII MEMORIAL AT FLORA, ILLINOIS.
