PRIVATE WITH COMPANY A, 6TH ARMORED INFANTRY BATTALION, 11TH ARMORED DIVISION. ENTERED COMBAT ON DECEMBER 23, 1944 DURING THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE. DIED OF WOUNDS ON MARCH 10, 1945 IN VICINITY OF NEIDERMENDIG, RHINELAND, GERMANY. EARNED THE PURPLE HEART MEDAL AND WAS ENTITLED TO THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, THE EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN CAMPAIGN WITH TWO BRONZE BATTLE STARS (ARDENNES AND RHINELAND), AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL. BURIED WITH MILITARY HONORS AT ELMWOOD CEMETERY IN FLORA, ILLINOIS. HONORED ALSO AT THE WWII MEMORIAL IN THAT CITY.
