Served from May 17, 1943 to October 23, 1945. Was drafted at 18 years old. Spent 6 months in basic training at Camp Roberts, California. Sent to the Pacific as squad leader. Battle Campaigns in New Guinea, North Solomon Islands and Luzon. Decorations and Citations included the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Purple Heart, Bronze Arrowhead and 3 Overseas Service Bars. Served for 2 years, 5 months and 14 days.
