TRAINED AS AN AUTOMATIC WEAPONS CREWMAN (MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY 601) AND DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ON DECEMBER 13, 1942 BOUND FOR ALASKA AND THE ALEUTIAN ISLANDS CAMPAIGN. RETURNED TO CONTINENTAL U.S. ON MAY 1, 1944. AWARDED THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, THE ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH 1 BRONZE BATTLE STAR, THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL AND THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED FROM BATTERY B, 54TH ANTI-AIRCRAFT REPLACEMENT TRAINING BATTALION AS A STAFF SERGEANT ON DECEMBER 6, 1945 AT FORT BLISS, TEXAS.
