TRAINED AT THE NAVAL TRAINING CENTER AT GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS AND ASSIGNED TO THE USS CLEMSON APD-31 (DENT CLASS HIGH SPEED TRANSPORT) IN THE PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS. EARNED THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, THE ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH FOUR BRONZE BATTLE STARS, THE PHILIPPINE LIBERATION MEDAL WITH TWO BRONZE STARS, THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL AND THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A SEAMAN FIRST CLASS ON DECEMBER 12, 1945 AT GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS.
