Was stationed in the Aleutian Islands on Shemya. Bombing the Kurile Islands. Plane was Crippled, so we flew into Russia . It was eight months before I got home. We were smuggled out. There is a book written about the airmen who were interned in Russia. The name of the book is (Home from Siberia) By Otis Hays, Jr.
