SERVED IN THE U.S. AS A RIFLEMAN INSTRUCTOR (MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY 745) WITH COMPANY C, 191ST INFANTRY TRAINING BATTALION. EARNED THE EXPERT INFANTRYMAN BADGE, GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A STAFF SERGEANT ON DECEMBER 6, 1945 AT CAMP BLANDING, FLORIDA.
