TRAINED AS A HEAVY TRUCK DRIVER (MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY 931) AND DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ON AUGUST 11, 1944 BOUND FOR THE EUROPEAN THEATER OF OPERATIONS. SERVED WITH THE 3466TH ORDNANCE MOTOR MAINTENANCE COMPANY. EARNED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, THE EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN CAMPAIGN MEDAL AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED FROM THE ORDNANCE CORPS AS A TECHNICIAN FOURTH GRADE ON APRIL 9, 1946 AT CAMP MCCOY, WISCONSIN.
