ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE AS A DRAFTEE ON 10 MARCH 1942 AT SCOTT FIELD, ILLINOIS. TRAINED AS AN AIRPLANE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (750) AND DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ON 9 MAY 1942 BOUND FOR THE ASIATIC-PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS. SERVED WITH A 7TH AIR FORCE UNIT IN THE WESTERN PACIFIC CAMPAIGN. AWARDED THE SOLDIERS MEDAL, THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, THE ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH 1 BRONZE BATTLE STAR AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL. HONORABLE DISCHARGE FROM THE 2ND AIR BASE OPERATION SECTION AS A STAFF SERGEANT ON 18 SEPTEMBER 1945 AT FORT LOGAN, COLORADO.
