TRAINED AS A RIFLEMAN AND SPECIALIZED AS A RAILWAY CONDUCTOR (058), HE DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ON 8 JULY 1945 BOUND FOR THE PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS. SERVED WITH THE 484TH TRANSPORTATION CORPS TRAFFIC REGULATION COMPANY THROUGH THE LUZON CAMPAIGN. EARNED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, THE ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH 1 BRONZE BATTLE STAR, THE PHILIPPINES LIBERATION MEDAL WITH 1 BRONZE STAR AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL. HONORABLE DISCHARGE AS A SERGEANT ON 27 OCTOBER 1946 AT THE SEPARATION CENTER, FORT SHERIDAN, ILLINOIS.
