Activity During WWII

Technician 5th Grade. Entered U.S. Army at Fort Devens, Massachusetts on August 31, 1943. After 17 weeks of combat engineering basic training at Fort Belvoir, Virginia was sent to the engineering school there to study topographic engineering. Graduated first in the class and chose the 673rd Topographic Engineering Company stationed at Camp Campbell, Kentucky. Landed in England on June 11, 1944. Served with George Patton's 3rd Army. Landed on Utah Beach on August 6, 1944 and was at the Battle of the Bulge. Traveled across France and Germany and was in Czechoslovakia when the war ended. Received 4 battle stars and French Legion of Honor.
