Activity During WWII

Enlisted man from March 17, 1943 to November 10, 1944 as a Sergeant; an M-4 Medium Tank commander. He was commissioned an officer on November 11, 1944 and was on active duty until September 18, 1946. Served as a platoon leader until September 1945 in the Solomon Islands and Philippine Island Campaigns; then was a Battalion S-3 Operations Officer during the Japan Occupation from September 1945 to July 1946. He was appointed to the reserves on September 18, 1946. As an enlisted man he was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge. As an Officer he was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal, Army of Occupation (Japan) Medal, Bronze Arrowhead Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal, and Presidential Philippine Unit Citation.
