Activity During WWII

Ball Turret Gunner and Aerial Photographer on a B-17. Shot down 10/8/43 over Bremen, Germany at the age of 21. Missing in action for three years. An officer from his hometown was policing the Bremen area in 1946 and discovered where he was buried. Dog tags and dental records identified him. In February 1947, he was brought home and laid to rest in the local cemetery.
