BASIC TRAINING AT FORT SILL, OKLAHOMA. ATTENDED, AND GRADUATED FROM, PARATROOPER SCHOOL AT FORT BENNING, GEORGIA. ASSIGNED TO THE 101ST AIRBORNE DIVISION; MADE INVASION OF FRANCE. PARTICIPATED IN THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE AND MADE COMBAT JUMPS INTO FRANCE, BELGIUM, HOLLAND AND GERMANY. ON MAY 8, 1945, HE DIED IN FRANCE. HE WAS A PASSENGER IN A JEEP AT A REST CAMP WAITING TO BE SENT BACK TO THE U.S. WHEN HIS VEHICLE DROVE OVER A LANDMINE.
