ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE AS A DRAFTEE ON JANUARY 18, 1943 AT CHICAGO, ILLINOIS. AFTER TRAINING, DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ON NOVEMBER 2, 1943 BOUND FOR THE PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS. SERVED AS A SUPPLY NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICER (MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY 821) WITH HEADQUARTERS BATTERY, 497TH ANTI-AIRCRAFT ARTILLERY GUN BATTALION. EARNED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL, WWII VICTORY MEDAL, AND THE PHILIPPINE LIBERATION MEDAL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED FROM THE COAST ARTILLERY CORPS AS A STAFF SERGEANT ON JANUARY 31, 1946 AT THE SEPARATION CENTER, JEFFERSON BARRACKS, MISSOURI.
