ENLISTED AND ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE ON DECEMBER 19, 1945 AT FORT MCCLELLAN, ALABAMA. COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING AND QUALIFIED FOR THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF TELEPHONE REPAIRMAN (095). DEPARTED THE U.S. ON MARCH 16, 1946 BOUND FOR THE EUROPEAN THEATER OF OPERATIONS. SERVED WITH COMPANY A, 126TH SIGNAL SERVICE BATTALION. HONORABLY DISCHARGED FROM THE SIGNAL CORPS AS A TECHNICIAN 5TH GRADE ON DECEMBER 3, 1946 AT THE SEPARATION CENTER, FORT SHERIDAN, ILLINOIS. EARNED THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL AND THE ARMY OF OCCUPATION MEDAL (GERMANY).
