ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE AS A DRAFTEE ON 21 OCTOBER 1942 AT CHICAGO, ILLINOIS. COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING AND QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF LIGHT TRUCK DRIVER (345). ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED STATESIDE WITH HEADQUARTERS STATION COMPLIMENT, 1530TH SERVICE COMMAND UNIT, BILLINGS GENERAL HOSPITAL, FORT BENJAMIN HARRISON, INDIANA. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AT THAT LOCATION WITH A CERTIFICATE OF DISABILITY AS A TECHNICIAN FIFTH GRADE ON 26 NOVEMBER 1945. EARNED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
