WORKED AS A COMPUTER OPERATOR FOR THE NATIONAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR AERONAUTICS, LANGLEY FIELD, VIRGINIA FROM MAY 1942 TILL 13 FEBRUARY 1943 WHEN SHE ENLISTED AS AN APPRENTICE SEAMAN AT RICHMOND, VIRGINIA. COMPLETED BOOT CAMP AT NAVAL TRAINING SCHOOL, NORTHAMPTON, MASSACHUSETTS. VOLUNTEERED FOR OFFICER TRAINING AND COMMISSIONED AN ENSIGN AT NAVAL TRAINING SCHOOL (Y) AT CEDAR FALLS, IOWA IN APRIL 1943. SERVED STATESIDE IN THE BUREAU OF AERONAUTICS REPRESENTATIVE OFFICE AT THE NASH-KELVINATOR COMPANY, KENOSHA, WISCONSIN. HONORABLY SEPARATED FROM THE SERVICE ON 20 NOVEMBER 1945 AS A LIEUTENANT (JUNIOR GRADE) (W) AT THE SEPARATION CENTER, GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS. EARNED THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
