SERVED IN THE U.S. WITH UNKNOWN UNITS UNTIL DEPARTING MARCH 23, 1945 BOUND FOR THE PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED WITH THE 579TH ANTI-AIRCRAFT ARTILLERY (AUTOMATIC WEAPONS) BATTALION (SP) IN THE LUZON CAMPAIGN. EARNED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, DRIVER AND MECHANIC BADGE, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH BRONZE BATTLE STAR, WWII VICTORY MEDAL AND THE PHILIPPINE LIBERATION MEDAL WITH BRONZE BATTLE STAR. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A STAFF SERGEANT ON MARCH 9, 1946 AT THE SEPARATION CENTER, JEFFERSON BARRACKS, MISSOURI.
