Drafted June 1941. Basic training in Coast Artillery Training Center. Transferred to Air Corps Aviation Cadet Program, May 1942. Rated pilot and commissioned 2nd Lieutenant, June 1943. Pilot instructor and fighter pilot until June 1948. Completed Bachelor of Science degree, August 1949. Specialized training in nuclear weapons and nuclear physics. Nuclear war plant until retirement March 1971.
