WITH EIGHT MONTHS AND TEN DAYS OF PRIOR SERVICE, ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE AGAIN AS A DRAFTEE ON FEBRUARY 2, 1942 AT FORT SHERIDAN, ILLINOIS. SELECTED FOR THE ORDNANCE CORPS, COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING, AND SPECIALIZED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF AUTO PARTS CLERK (348). DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ON AUGUST 27, 1943 BOUND FOR THE PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED WITH THE 33RD LIGHT ORDNANCE DEPOT COMPANY IN THE NEW GUINEA AND LUZON CAMPAIGNS. EARNED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, AMERICAN DEFENSE SERVICE MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH TWO BRONZE BATTLE STARS, WWII VICTORY MEDAL AND THE PHILIPPINE LIBERATION MEDAL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A TECHNICIAN 5TH GRADE ON NOVEMBER 18, 1945 AT THE SEPARATION CENTER, JEFFERSON BARRACKS, MISSOURI.
